Vocabulary WK 11

1. Anonymous-  When someone turns in a letter that doesn't have a name, it is anonymous.

2. Troll- When someone is trying to get you mad on the internet about a certain discussion, that person is a troll.

3. Courtesy- Many young men don't have enough courtesy to young women.

10. Tone- My english teacher always tell me i need more tone in my writing.

EVALUATION

 My learning can help my community by me teaching that community what i have learned. This means that whatever i learn i can teach that to other people living in my community. By teaching, i can help others in my community learn more things that i have learned. Fur thermore, my community will be more knowledgeable about what kids in schools are learing everyday.

My future projects can become better by me planning more. Most of the time, i do the projects like the night before it is due. Also, only if parts of the project are due at different times, then ill take my time. Other than that, i really do the majority of my projects at the last minute. My future projects can improve by me planning out my time more and not depending on the teacher to tell me or remind me when the project is due.  I can plan out my  time more and also do better on other projects. By doing better on my projects, my grade will get better and i will be a better student.

i have learned that i am a procrastinater. This means that i wait last minute to do everything and anything. This is bad i know that for sure, but i can't help it. I have also learned that i am very creative when i want to be. I can bring up new ideas when i feel like it. I will continue to be a procrastinater because i can't help but be one.  I will not continue talking to michel during work. Even thpugh she starts the conversation, i will not talk if i can help but talk to her. I will also not talk to samuel in computers class and art. I will also talk to Eblihm because she helps me and honestly is smart. This will help me later on by me knowing who to talk to and who not to talk to for the right reasons. 

I feel very good about my final product because i know i put my time and effort into it. I got distracted while creating it but i got the project done. I feel that i can get a good grade and that sixth graders will understand the design cycle more clearly and will be able to teach it to others in order to serve THIER community.  In the Investigate stage i would rate myself a 3 because i did all the work and i also did all the research i needed but unfortunetly when i continued farther into the project, i has to re-do a section of that stage and start all over again. Since i feel that i didn't do enough research, i feel i shoudn't get that high of a score and also that i should look more carefully at some research. On the plan part i feel i should get a 3 because i made my gant chart and i planned out how i wanted to finish my project but i didn't follow the chart exactly as planned. In the create stage, however, i feel i deserve a 4 because in the create stage i took my time creating my videos. I also tried to do it the best i can so that a sixth grader can understand the information given in the video and also that the can teach it to others. In the Evaluate stage, i feel i deserve a 3 because i got the three sixth graders i needed to get and also that i got my results from the survey website that i got to see if my creation wa valid or not. I was able to evaluate myself too by seeing how i think i did in the video and how well i thought the sixth graders can understand the videos.

There are many things that i think i would  like to change.  In regards to planning, i think i would like to honestly follow the plan i make and make sure i get my project done on time. I would also like to change that i would honestly stay on task while i am doing certyain parts of the project and do what i'm supposed to do. In reards to the execution of my plan, i feel that i would change my tool that i used for my project. An example would be that i first started using Smilebox for my movie, but it turned out that instead it would more for a picture type of video so i learned not to use that unless i want to make i small movie with pictures. Also, i would change by not using the Dvolver tool again. I had to restart my video a couple of times before i got to publish it, but it took forever to finish it. Also, i wouldn't use it because it wouldn't save my video, so if i didn't finish and weanted to continue, then i would have to start all over again. I now know that those two tools won't be apart of any future projects that i would need when making a video.

Reflection

TODAY I GOT TO SURVEY A SIXTH GRADER FOR MY FIRST VIDEO. AT FIRST DURING CLASS THERE WERE SEVENTH GRADERS BUT I DIDN'T WANT TO TEST THEM BECAUSE THEY ALREADY WENT TO ALOT OF PEOPLE AND THEY ALREADY KNEW ALL ABOUT THE DESIGN CYCLE. ALSO, I DIDN'T WANT TO BECAUSE I WAS AFRAID THAT THEY ALREADY KNEW ABOUT THE DESIGN CYCLE BEFORE THEY CAME INTO THE CLASS.  NOW I JUST NEED TWO MORE SIXTH GRADERS TO TEST AND I WILL BE FINISHED WITH THE EVALUATE SECTION OF MY PROJECT.   :)

REflection

I rate myself a 4. What i did in class was that i finished editing my second design. It was on Domo Animate and i got to send it to Ms.hinojosa. I also got to try to finish my video and the create section of my project. I also need to do my reflection for the sixth graders. I also need to borrow some sixth graders from the elective classes to see if my video was successful or not. I still need to complete my evaluate stage. i got a lot of work to do.

MY DESIGN

I would rate my self a 3 because i made sure that my desgn 1 was complete and that ms.Hinojosa got my video in her e-mail. I relly didn't do anything because i realized that i don't want to use Smilebox because it requires me to use picture. Unfortunetly i don't have any pictures about the design cycle so i don't ant to use it. I will have to get a new tool and do what i did with Smilebox starting from Investigagte to create so that i can create my final product. :( This sucks!

Design Brief






I am going to make a short video explaining how  to use the design cycle to a sixth grader. I am going to make this because it is simple and it will also get the audience's attention quicker than making a powerpoint and making the want to sleep.
Formulate a Design Specification
The requirements are that i has to be at least two minutes long or more, it has to be able to make sure that whoever is watching the video can later on explain to me how to use the design cycle, and to make sure that i have fun creating this project. In reality there are very few limitations if not any. I really can't think of some so right now  there are no limitations.
TEST: I will test my project by showing the video to the sixth graders that i am assigned to and to make sure that it works i will then ask them questions independently and see if they really can explain the design cycle to me. If my video was made to the right requirements, then each and every one will be able to explain to me. 

Self Reflection

I would rate myself a 3-4. Yes, i know it is a low rating and i am being hard on myself but i really think i deserve this grade. I did everything that i was supposed to but yet i didn't clearly understand some things that i did.  I know what the problem is and i know how to explain it to someone who may not know what they are supposed to do. I also have been getting information for my certain investigation. Although i know how to do all this, i still didn't understand how to do some steps in between. I needed to ask for help and also i needed extra time to just finish some things. It's not the highest grade but yet it's not the lowest.  I still feel like i don't deserve this but as i look into what i have done then i will soon learn more aboout this project and understand it more clearly.

MY ratings are 1a 5 being the best and a one being the worst. I gave Domo Animate a total rating of 17. I gave color a 5 because the tool is rich in colr and the outlines of the objects are clear. I gave the graphics a 4 because i thought that the graphics were really fine and were able t perform in a good way. I gave simplicity a 5 because the vide seems very simle t use and to make that a sixth grader could make it without any help I gave entertainment a 3 because it thought it would nice to create a video that kids wuld love and be able t like the characters in the video.Adding all f this up, Dmo Animate gets a ttal f 17.
Color in this tol is seen everyewhere. Itis seen on the homepage f the website and in the vide making steps. The color in the vides is very rich in brighness and also very likeable. The colors just stand ut and also blend in. THE colors blend with each other creating some effects that can give the video a better feeling. Also the colors give a tye of tone depending n what they are used for. The colors in the type of background all go well with each other and seem to fit just perfectly. Also, the clors in the characters also bring ut a certain personality in the certain type f characters.
I gave graphics a  4 because hte graphics are really good. The charcaters have their own actions and thier wn movements that make the video special. The graphics are so good that they make the movie seem nice and organized. ALs, they bring out the colors and also the entertainment in them. ONe thing i didn't like abut the graphics thugh, was that each character was limited. What i mean by this is that each charcte has theirmvements and thier wn actins but nt all characters have the same ones. Some may have the action t talk while others have the action t laugh. It gets frustrating because then if we want one character t d an action too then its complicated because they can't
The simplicity in making this vide was aesme. The score fr simplicity is a 5 because it was s simple to make. YEs some of the scenes took longer than others but that is beause you prefect ti t hat yu want it to loo like. It is also very simple to start creating the video. The hardest part though, is to create the script to seem like it is very short. Even though that was hard it was still vvery simple to use an make at the same time. The video overall was very simple t do and to make It was really fun and so simple that i wuld want t use this tool t make more videos. 
ENtertainment gets 3 points. I gave it three points because it was kind of fun to create my video and also watch it. The reason that it diddn't get a 5 was because 

Dvolver

The scoring is based on a five being the best and a 1 being the worst. I scored color a 3 because it has some great color but then again it has some really awful color that i wouldn't use. The graphics was a 4 because it had really cool graphics. It gave you the choice to choose them and then you also got to edit the graphics. You could make your own or you could have just used the ones already in the software. I gave simplicity a 5 because it is very simple to create a short video of this. We are lave to make a simple video in less than five minutes! The entertainment was a 3 because it is a little entertaining but then again it really doesn't have a lot of entertainment except the characters. The total for Dvolver is 15. 
First i have color and the score is a 3. I gave color a three because the color wasn't that good and wasn't as bright as Smilebox. It was all dark but put in a neat way. It was cool because the darkness of the colors gave the tool a better feeling and more fun way to make the final product. It was bad because the darkness gave the tool a bad way to present it. What i mean is that the dark colors are cause the tool to look bad and give it a bad presentation. With the presentation bad it causes the whole entire product to look bad and thats not good. With the presentation bad then you get a bad grade and that doesn't help you at all. 
The graphics score was a 4 because unlike the Smilebox, this tool honestly has great graphics. The graphics on this tool are very nice. Yes, they can be better than what they really are, but then they can be adjusted to what you prefer. Thats is another reason why i gave the graphics a four. Also, on this tool it already has preset graphics. It has graphics you can choose from and also templates that they go well with. The graphics also aren't that hard to see. The move at a good pace but also at a preferable pace that can be  used for little kids. 
I gave simplicity a five because in every aspect, this tool was very simple to use. It was so easy that i could make a simple one graphic short video in less than five minutes.  IT was also very easy to start the video. The tool has steps that take you into creating your video and a couple steps. It starts off with you creating your background and setup. After that, then it gives you the characters you need and you can choose as many as you want. It then shows you the set up to make your video. Unfortunetly , I wasn't able to get past these few couple of steps because i didn't have any time left. 
Lastly, i gave entertainment a 3. I gave it this score because i was fun to create the simple video. I got to choose what  i wanted but also to the way i wanted it to be presented. Also, i got to have fun creating the characters and adjusting the way i want the video to see. It didn't get a higher score though, because it really doesn't grab attention quickly. What i mean is that it really doesn't make you want to do it in the first couple of steps. All in all, i think its really cool to make a video on this tool. It will be really fun to create and i will be happy to make this tool.

INVESTIGATION

I deciding on doing a video /movie. When i got on Ms.Hinojosa's   blog i went to the tools link for videos.  I found some tools that i'm thinking of using. One of them is Dvolver a video making website. It seems cool and i just started making a random video with stuff in it . It seemed pretty easy so i may just use it. I also saw some other tools that i liked but i don't know if i'm going to use. One of those is Smilebox but it has only one fallback. I need photos to make a video and i don't think i'm just going to take pictures of the design cycle so i'm more likely not going to use it for this particular project.  When i was done with Smilebox, i went to MAsher. its a website where you use pictures, videos, and songs.
   All these tools sound really great and it's going to be hard choosing just one of them. All in all, i think i'm going  to make an awesome project!

 I will explain to a 6th grader what the design cycle is all about by creating a presentation.
 This applies to the real world by us having to use it for projects in our future jobs.
It'll serve my community by other people able to use it to make the community better.
 My learning can help my community by my learning i can teach others what they don't already know.  We all help each other and can teach each other things be have learned through our experiences.
We need to be able to explain the design cycle exactly and accurately in a creative way to a 6th grader and they must be able to understand it after we have explained it to them. 
The design cycle is a series of steps that help you with projects and other simple things that need to be used in our working lives.
All the steps need to be worked with for a certain amount of time. Every step has a series of steps within that step.  We can't just answer the steps in one sentences answers but in paragraphs and possibly pages.
